The Saginaw County Road Commission sponsored its third annual coloring contest for the elementary school-aged children of Saginaw County. The contest involved three age groups: Pre-Kindergarten - Kindergarten, 1st - 2nd Grades & 3rd—5th Grades.
The classrooms of the first place winners in each category were presented a $100 gift certificate, donated by Wirt Stone Docks, for classroom supplies. The classrooms of the second place winners in each category were presented with a $50 gift certificate, donated by Wirt Stone Docks, for classroom supplies.
Choice Office Supplies donated a $100 gift certificate for classroom supplies that was awarded to a classroom chosen from a random drawing.
The winning student from each category and their classroom teacher were invited to attend our March 15th Board Meeting at 5:00 p.m. for an award presentation. Each of the winning students received a certificate along with a street sign with their name on it along with their teacher receiving their respective gift certificate for classroom supplies.
The Saginaw County Road Commission plans to incorporate the winning pictures into our 2012 calendar. The winning pictures from each category along with a random drawing winner can be found below.
